DIY--My projects

Wine Cork Place Card Holders

I knew when we decided on wine/martini/bar theme, I wanted to use corks as the place card holders. Originally I had planned on using single ones, but then I saw these on another knottie's page ( piggy9al) and I think they are even better than what I had planned. They look more substantial, and more stable.

And here is my version!

So here is my version . My friend and bridesmaid, Liz, helped me assemble all the cork pyramids.  The hardest part is getting the place card in there. That will have to be done once the actual place cards are done and ready to go in there. Or my Dad is going to give them a go with a scroll saw. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

One of the most fun parts was finding cool stuff on the corks to display. I realized that Robert Mondavi corks are awesome and have Robert's initials on them.  Others just had really cool pictures or words showing. I love them!

Napkin Rings!

Thanks to Scrapbookstar for inspiring these! Here are my DIY napkin rings!

Martini Centerpieces

I'm going to be using these over-sized martini glasses I found at Michael's for my centerpieces.  My goal is to put blue water-storing gel beads in the glass to make the water look blue, and then float a single white bloom in the vase.  Depending on the flower, and if I'm able to get all my vases on sale, I'm looking at maybe only $15 per CP.  To me, that's great, because I thought the vases alone were going to cost me at least $20 each!

Fan Programs

So, I'm going to be doing something like this with my programs/fans.  I just bought fans like this from an Austin Knottie and I'll make the programs myself.  We'll attach a program to every other fan, attach them with blue ribbon, and place them on the chairs.

Baskets

I found these baskets at Hobby Lobby this weekend. They are light blue, and had a turquoise ribbon on them that I switched out with a navy ribbon. I am going to use the larger ones on the left for bubbles and matchbook favors. The smaller ones on the right will be for the flower girls.  They are exactly what I wanted, and soo cheap!
